How to use up your last egg (168-197)

Today was an ‘interesting’ day at work and I came home craving something sugary and comforting. Rather than hitting the shops and spending money buying biscuits, we behaved admirably and hit my recipe file to see what we could make using only ingredients we have in the house (including using up our last egg before it goes off). I’ve got a few cook books but mostly I photocopy old favourites from my mum’s books or, more recently, print out online recipes and put them all in a file. I have to say that the BBC’s got a great website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/) for recipes; it seems they put all the recipes from their shows online, which is very handy and, best of all, they’re free! So we raided our cupboards and managed to make both pancakes and lemon biscuits essentially for free. Marvellous :)
