Broadband switch saves money (98-267)

Today an astute CJ has saved us a not inconsiderable amount of money by switching our broadband provider. Prior to today we had a TV, broadband and landline-phone package with Sky (Sky TV is our one monthly luxury as we figure it saves us money in the long run by giving us something to do at home, thereby reducing our craving for going out for meals/to the cinema/renting DVDs etc), which was costing us about £65 per month because you have to pay BT line-rental in addition to Sky’s charges. CJ cunningly spotted that if we kept our Sky TV, but switched our broadband and landline to Virgin (enabling us to ditch BT) we would save about £12 a month (and have a quicker internet connection)… not all that much, but it still adds up to a £144 saving over one year. As they say, every little helps.
